Most online platforms seek to increase the time users spend there, usually by giving them more of the content they have consumed in the past. But this strategy can perpetuate mindless scrolling, and potentially cause regretful users to quit cold turkey. Don't scroll on the homepage! You can scroll on your profile page or your watch later playlist or your saved reddit posts, but you cannot scroll on the homepage of the app or the website. You might think that it defeats the purpose of social media, but it's not like that.
